The moment forklifts are used to travel long distances in house or tow trolleys, it is an indication that forklift running costs are climbing and an investigation into towing with a Motrec battery operated tractor is worthwhile.

A forklift can carry a single pallet. A tow vehicle can tow four pallets for example.

This makes it 4 times more efficient.
If it is half the capital cost then it is 2 times more economical to purchase.
That could make it 8 times more economical to use.

If the battery operated system has no fuel cost and it is compared to fuel, then it is again more economical as the battery acts as a low cost fuel tank. If maintenance costs are negligible with few moving parts, it again is less expensive to run than combustion engine units with hundreds of moving parts. An investigation is surely worthwhile.

Similarly, in premises where trolleys are moved by pedestrians, hand pushed over medium or long distances or heavy tolleys are moved over shorter distances then battery operated tow vehicles can again prove to be very effective and economical means of getting goods moved economically.

Towing is not the only option. Stockchaser models are in fact battery operated trolleys, which are very suitable for carrying goods on a purpose made deck, as well as towing trolleys when neccessary.
